‘You need to wait for a new book or the Amazon documentary’ – Poch cracks joke about journalist’s question

Tottenham Hotspur take on Liverpool this weekend in a game that will surely be billed as the 2019 Champions League Final rematch.

Spurs were undone by Liverpool in Madrid back in June, with the Reds winning the match 2-0 and lifting the prestigious Champions League trophy.

Liverpool have gone on to perform above and beyond so far in the Premier League season, with the draw away to Man United being their only dropped points so far.

Pochettino will be hoping that his side can unlock the secret to beating Liverpool on Sunday, but no game at Anfield is ever easy for a visiting team.

The Spurs manager was asked again about those days after the Champions League Final defeat in his press conference today, to which the Argentine had a witty response.

After Tottenham’s recent deal with Amazon, Poch told the journalist that they would have to wait for the documentary or a new book to find out.

Poch said (Football London): “You need to wait for a new book or the Amazon documentary! Nah, it was tough. The last game of the season, the final of the Champions League is all or nothing and it was nothing in the end. To be second for us, because we are so competitive in football, is nothing. It means a lot for the club to reach the final of the Champions League but the players and staff felt empty after the game.

“With time you can say, ok we played in the final of Champions League but we didn’t win and that will always be with you. We’ve spoken a lot about my feelings after that but now we have full energy and we have recovered from that and now it’s the moment to build our confidence and trust and start to show our real talent and potential.”
