‘You never know’ – Premier League manager directly asked about Spurs links

Thomas Frank has said that while he is flattered to be linked with jobs as big as the Tottenham one, he is happy at Brentford for the time being.

Ange Postecoglou has seemingly now become the front-runner for the Tottenham hot seat, with some publications suggesting over recent days that the Celtic boss could even be confirmed as the new Spurs head coach by next week (The Sun).

However, other candidates are still seemingly in the running, with some outlets revealing that Luis Enrique and Ruben Amorim are still on the North London club’s radar (Football Insider).

Two Premier League managers in Marco Silva (Telegraph) and Julen Lopetegui (90 min) have also been linked with the job in the last 48 hours.

Another Premier League boss who was previously thought to be on the Lilywhites’ radar is Thomas Frank, with talkSPORT claiming as recently as a few weeks ago that Tottenham had their eye on the Brentford boss.

When asked about the speculation linking him with the Spurs hot seat, the Dane has now told Bold.dk: “I think there are many special clubs right now. You don’t have to believe all the rumours, but sometimes there’s a lot in the rumours.

“It’s, of course, positive, because if you are mentioned, then you have done something good.

“I have said it many times. I’m super happy to be at Brentford and I’m thriving, we’re performing and I’m feeling good.

“Whether I have to be here for the rest of my life? I probably shouldn’t. If I’m going to leave here, it has to be something special. What it is, I haven’t really defined.”

When asked whether he will continue at Brentford next season, he said: “I am strongly betting on that. I can say that with 99.9% certainty, because in football you never know.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Frank has undoubtedly done an excellent job at Brentford but I can see why he was not at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.

I have my doubts over the 49-year-old can replicate his success under the increased scrutiny and pressure that comes with a higher-profile job.
