You won’t believe what Hugo Lloris has let Pochettino keep in his office

It has been an up and down year for Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris, from winning the World Cup as captain of France, to being arrested for drink driving (Guardian), to reaching the Champions League final with Spurs.

Hugo is now set to captain his club side for the CL Final on Saturday, as Tottenham take on Liverpool for the right to be crowned Champions of Europe.

Every single Spurs fan will be hoping and praying to see Lloris lift that iconic trophy come Saturday night, as he did with the World Cup.

However, the Frenchman has been very generous with the World Cup replica he received after winning the tournament.

Lloris revealed in a recent interview with Football London that he has allowed Pochettino to keep the trophy on top of his cabinet in his office for the time being.

However, Lloris was keen to point out that it is to share, and not Pochettino’s to keep.

He said: “I didn’t give it to him, it’s just in his office. “It’s to share. I’m really grateful. I think in life or in your career there is always some amazing meeting in terms of a person, and it’s been the case with Mauricio.

“You know we are all ambitious and we are all working every day in the club to make history. We could not do it before in the Premier League but we’ve done very well the last four years to reach the top four.

“Now we have a fantastic opportunity in the Champions League. It’s the biggest trophy that you can win and when it’s in front of you, you must do everything to get it.

“It means even more when you do it with people that you really want to do it. With Mauricio it means even more.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Let’s hope that Tottenham have the real Champions League trophy to show off in their cabinet come Sunday. It has been over a decade since Spurs lifted a trophy, and this current crop deserves to have their efforts rewarded with the biggest prize in club football.
