Young fan bravely asks Moura how it felt to be benched for the Champions League Final

No Tottenham fan out there will need reminding of that incredible journey to the Champions League Final in Madrid last season, with some crazy matches along the way.

Spurs only just made it out of the group stage thanks to a 1-1 draw at the Nou Camp and some help from PSV against Inter Milan.

From then on, Tottenham did brilliantly to batter Borussia Dortmund 4-0 across two legs, before inching past Man City on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

In the semi-finals against Ajax, Spurs went 3-0 down on aggregate in the second leg at half-time, leaving them 45 minutes to rescue their campaign.

Lucas Moura stepped up in a huge way and scored a second-half hat-trick to book Tottenham’s place in the final alongside Liverpool.

However, the winger was benched in the final for the returning Harry Kane, something that must have been hard to take for the man who got Spurs there in the first place.

One young academy player asked Moura how it felt to be benched, to which he replied: ‘Ah, this game was… I cried a lot. Of course, it was difficult for me especially because of what happened in the semi-final. But, I wanted to win the game and I believed we could win. So it was very difficult.’
