A whole host of Kane’s former and current Tottenham teammates, as well as England comrades, have given words of support to the striker after his penalty miss against France.
As one would expect, Kane looked absolutely devastated after the final whistle on Saturday as his failure to convert from the penalty spot for the second time in the match meant that the Three Lions bowed out of the competition.
The Tottenham man fronted up to the media after the game and insisted that he was proud of his England teammates for the effort they put in through the tournament (ITV).
Kane also took to Instagram to state that he takes full responsibility for the nation’s elimination on Saturday, and several players responded with words of support.
Erik Lamela commented on his former Tottenham teammate’s post with “Head up! You’re a machine!!” while Joe Hart wrote: Superstar H.
His current Spurs teammates Dejan Kulusevski and Davinson Sanchez responded with heart emojis, with the latter writing: “Big H.”
Jordan Henderson replied to Kane’s post with: “We’ll be back”, while Tyrone Mings and Callum Wilson also responded with heart emojis.
Spurs Web Opinion
Some Arsenal fans were always going to use this opportunity to have a dig at Kane but the response, in general, from most pundits and fans, has been quite measured. Most people recognise that the Tottenham man was brave to step up and that anyone can miss a penalty.
