With Tottenham looking to build upon last weekend’s impressive 5-0 win against Burnley, the focus shifts to the Reebok Stadium on Saturday where Spurs will face Bolton Wanderers, with a lot of fans are already debating about what the team should be.
The Spurs faithful are already waiting to see Harry Redknapp will pick a more physical side to handle Bolton.
Have your say below by leaving your Spurs starting eleven.
Here’s what we have come up with:-
Gomes
Corluka – Dawson – Bassong – Assou-Ekotto
Lennon – Huddlestone – Palacios – Kranjcar
Keane – Crouch
Have something to tell us about this article?
Should be a tall and physical team:
Gomes
Corluka
Dawson
Bassong
Bale
Lennon
Palacios
Huddlestone
Jenas
Crouch
Keane
I agree, mainly. Although with Crouch upfront and a physical tussle expected, I would rest Lennon and play Bentley. It’s time to back the lad. He has a good delivery and Crouch is upfront. I would bring Lennon on in the 2nd half, if necessary; to run at a lumbering tired defence and finish them off.
Bentley is not a bad player, hew is just playing badly, he has a good delivery and needs to play to gain confidence. Last season, his delivery was negated when he was trying to find Defoe, Keane or a head shy Darren Bent (who set Bent up against Portsmouth with a sublime cross that Sandra would have scored – Bentley). This is his chance and he will thrive!
Jenas or Hudd is tricky; I think you have called this one right though.
Cud or Gomes: again Gomes. Has to be; Cud looking more and more shaky.
Dawson back as soon as possible. He will look quality with Bassong.
Bale as a sub on the Left, to give flexiblity all across the midfield by either: Removing kranc; removing Palacios (if he has yet another yellow card) removing Thudd, thus pushing Krancjar into CM.
Gomes
Alan Hutton
Benoît Assou Ekotto
Michael Dawson
Sébastien Bassong
Wilson Palacios
Jermaine Jenas
Aaron Lennon
Niko Kranjcar
Roman Pavlyuchenko
Peter Crouch
Pav, Pav, super Pav – wot you mean he’s injured, when did that ever stop Spurs;-D
Gomes
Corluka
Bassong
Dawson
BAE
Lennon
Huddlestone
Palacios
Krankjar
Keane – but Pav if he weren’t injured (Pav, Pav, Super Pav…)
Crouch
Gomes
Corluka Dawson Bassong Assou-Ekotto
Lennon Huddlestone Palacios Kranjcar
Keane Crouch
If we are comfortable in the 2nd half let bentley have a run around. Don’t start him.
gomes
corluka
bassong
huddlestone
ekotto
lennon
jenas
palacios
kranjcar
keane
crouchy
Agrees with Paul. Should give Bently a chance. Since joining Spurs, he has turn from a bently to a skoda… I think it’s the right time for him to change back to his name sake.
Gomes
Corluka Dawson Bassong Bale
Bentley Huddlestone Palacios Lennon
Keane Crouch
Crouch need all the crosses from bale, lennon and bentley.
Gomes
Corluka Dawson Bassong BAE
Bentley Thudd Sgt Bale
Keane Crouch
Think Crouch will enjoy the crosses from Bentley and Bale, maybe he can get 4 this week and confuse Harry even more!
I shall replace my tn hat in readiness for the possibility of many a stone coming my way,but I just fancied something a little different so here goes
GOMMES
DAWSON
NOUGHTON HUDDLESTONE EKOTTO
LENNON PALACIOS BALE
KEANE
BENTLEY CROUCH
As you can see I am feeling extremely brave, but obviously I am never going to get the chance to put this formation into practice anyway,is that a big sigh of relief I hear,or just masses of laughter.
Gomes
Corluka Dawson Bassong Benoit-Ekotto
Bently Huddlestone Palacios Bale
Keane Crouch
Subs : Lennon, Pav, Hutton, Cudicini, Krancjar, Naughton, Dos Santos
