Zola looks to make Hutton a Hammer

West ham are eyeing up a move to take Alan Hutton to Upton Park, according to Sky Sports.

Hutton has struggled to make an impact on the first team this season, with Vedran Corluka having made the right-back slot his own and the Scotsman has been linked with a move away from Spurs.

Sunderland have also been credited with an interest, but West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola has put the right back on top of his shopping list.

West Ham have been lacking on the right hand side of defence after Lucas Neill left in the summer, and Hutton is deemed to be the ideal recruit so they are not forced to play Julien Faubert.

The Hammers may well offer players in part-exchange, as their finances will not allow them to cover the cost of such a transfer.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Hutton and 8 million for Carlton Cole.
    Sorted, everyone is a winner.
West Ham can’t choose and pick if they want to deal with Tottenham. It is they who are skint and desperate, and of course, lets not forget that mug Duxbury’s little outburst a while back about Tottenham and him refusing to deal with them etc…
Make the mug beg on his knees, take a mill off the original 8m + Hutton and do the deal.

  2. No thanks, we don’t need any of their players. They can purchase Hutton and then we should go out and find a remarkable right back and Corluka can be a back up for the the right and center back positions or he can be our cup player. Our defence is where we need more strength anyways. Even if we get one player this January, I hope it’s a defender who will strengthen our back four.

  3. Hutton can go, he was overated and overpriced when some stupid little french director of football decided he was a good investment. Let him go and perhaps try and give Naughton a go. Cannot see why we invest in young talent if they dont get a chance.
