Everyone praises and remembers the great goalscorers in any team, but not enough is said about those who have the most assists for Tottenham Hotspur.
We’re here to run down the ten players who have created the most goals in the history of the Spurs — with the caveat that assists were not properly tracked until the 1980s.
10. Glenn Hoddle
Glenn Hoddle was the kind of player that simply excelled at everything he did, and that is especially true of his time with Tottenham. Not only did he make the top ten for most appearances at Spurs, but he’s also made the chart for assists, too. His incredible skill, vision, and footballing brain made him the perfect playmaker for the Lilywhites.
Assists: 40
Appearances: 417
Years at club: 1974-1987

9. Erik Lamela
The Argentinian had huge boots to fill, coming in to replace Gareth Bale at the time, and while he sometimes lacked consistency and discipline, Erik Lamela did deliver some magical moments for Spurs. He had the pleasure of playing with the likes of Heung-min Son and Harry Kane, which helps, but the winger had flair and creativity in abundance and was able to provide for the attackers in front of him.
Assists: 44
Appearances: 257
Years at club: 2013-2021
8. Teddy Sheringham
While Teddy Sheringham will always be best known as a prolific striker, he also managed to set up plenty of goals for those around him, too. His deft touch, composure in the box, and awareness of everything around him not only allowed him to find the back of the net, but to find his teammates when a better option was presented to him.
Assists: 48
Appearances: 268
Years at club: 1992-1997, 2001-2003
7. Gareth Bale
When he wasn’t busy firing long-range screamers into the back of the net, Gareth Bale was more than happy to lay on a nice pass for the likes of Robbie Keane, Dimitar Berbatov, or later, in his second spell with the club, Harry Kane. There’s an argument to be made that Bale is actually the best player to ever play for Spurs, and his assists record does nothing to dissuade us of that idea.
Assists: 53
Appearances: 237
Years at club: 2007-2013, 2020-2021
6. Dele Alli
We would give anything to have prime Dele Alli back, but the years of pure genius he gave us will never be forgotten. When the young playmaker burst onto the scene after joining Spurs from MK Dons, the Premier League witnessed the emergence of one of the most exciting, intelligent, and creative young players the top flight had ever seen.
Dele possessed impeccable vision and was so composed and clever with the ball. His link-up play with the likes of Kane, Son, and Christian Eriksen formed the basis of a real golden generation at Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino. Here’s hoping he can get back to his best in the near future.
Assists: 58
Appearances: 269
Years at club: 2015-2022

5. Harry Kane
Not content with being the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, Harry Kane just had to get in on the party for most assists, too. Obviously, when Kane sees the net, he tends to score, but he has shown a selflessness and awareness of the bigger picture many times, too, particularly in his connection with Son.
One of the main strengths of Kane’s game has always been his ability to drop deeper, hold up the ball, and feed the runners moving beyond him. We’ve seen it for Spurs and for England so many times, and a Kane assist is almost as wonderful to watch as a Kane goal.
Key fact – Kane and Son hold the Premier League record for the most goal combinations (47).

Assists: 61
Appearances: 435
Years at club: 2004-2023
4. Darren Anderton
Back in the 1990s, Darren Anderton had the misfortune of being overshadowed by one David Beckham when it came to great English right midfielders. Were it not for a number of injures, there’s every chance Anderton would have had a more consistent England career, and his assists tally for Spurs would certainly have increased, too.
Assists: 63
Appearances: 351
Years at club: 1992-2004
3. Aaron Lennon
One of the fastest, trickiest, most natural out-and-out wingers in the modern era, Aaron Lennon was a revelation when he broke through at Leeds United, and it’s no surprise that he was a big success when he joined Tottenham. Lennon was part of the last successful Spurs side that won the League Cup in 2008, and was surrounded by incredible players who simply loved to get on the end of his crosses.
Whether he was hugging the touchline and delivering balls from deep, or weaving in and out and cutting inside before knocking a neat pass into the box, Lennon was a lethal creative whose attacking returns are somewhat underrated to this day.
Assists: 74
Appearances: 364
Years at club: 2005-2015
2. Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen is the player with the most assists for Tottenham Hotspur. Of all the players which Spurs let go too early, you’d be hard-pressed to find a player that was harder to replace than Christian Eriksen.
The Danish midfielder was the main creative force in the Pochettino era, finding space in the middle of the park or out wide and delivering killer balls to Kane, Son, or Dele. His set-piece work helped boost his numbers, of course, but Eriksen was also capable of the more delicate, graceful passes, too.
Assists: 88
Appearances: 305
Years at club: 2013-2020
1. Heung-min Son

Many of Heung-min Son’s assists came from his unstoppable partnership with Harry Kane, with the South Korean often running in behind before finding his friend in the box.
Even without the talismanic striker, Son had always been able to use his electric pace, dangerous skills, and calmness under pressure to find the right pass at the right time. Having led Tottenham to the Europa League trophy in May 2025, he decided to join LAFC for a fresh challenge.
Assists: 101
Appearances: 454
Years at club: 2015-2025
