Not exactly the most consistent performer during his time at Spurs, Hutton was signed for a fee of £9m from Rangers in January 2008. The 33 year old Scotland international made over 50 appearances for Spurs, with a brief loan spell at Sunderland sandwiched in between.

In August 2011, Hutton reunited with former manager Alex McLeish in a double swoop from Aston Villa which also involved the loan signing of Jermaine Jenas.

Hutton has dropped in an out of the Villa team with loan spells at Nottingham Forest, Mallorca and Bolton Wanderers. However, currently under Steven Bruce, he is a regular starter.

After the Lilywhites’ blistering start to the season, there have been murmurings that this could finally be the year boss Mauricio Pochettino finally breaks their trophy duct.

But when was the last time Spurs won a trophy? It was the 24th February 2008, Spurs ran out as 2-1 winners against Chelsea. The first League Cup Final to be held at the new Wembley Stadium, which Spurs would become very familiar with years later. Here’s who started that day.
