Manor Solomon career stats

Fans of the English game will know all about Manor Solomon after his loan spell with Fulham during the 2022/23 campaign, where he impressed on numerous occasions when coming off the bench.

The winger scored five goals in 24 games for Fulham (Transfermarkt), with all those goals coming in successive matches through February and March of this year.

The Israeli forward missed the first half of the season due to a knee injury he picked up in the first game of the Premier League season.

There is every chance that if he hadn’t suffered that injury, Solomon’s stats for last season would have been even more impressive.

However, we do know that he had the best conversion rate of any player who registered more than ten shots last season, with a 36.9% ratio (WhoScored).

It is hard to judge a player on half a season in the Premier League, but if we look back at the 2021/22 campaign, Solomon bagged four goals and added two assists for Shakhtar Donetsk (Transfermarkt).

During that season, he gained experience in the Champions League, playing against the likes of Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

Manor Solomon strengths and weaknesses

One thing we learned about Manor Solomon last year is, he is very much a confidence player, and when he gets on a hot streak he will find the back of the net in important moments for his team.

He is a quick, agile winger who possesses plenty of trickery and intelligence when carrying the ball, allowing him to beat his man with ease and create a dangerous situation.

Solomon is the kind of player who thrives on attacking football and quick transitions in play, and should suit Ange Postecoglou’s system perfectly. He is also pretty versatile, and although he typically plays on the left, Solomon can operate through the middle or play on the right wing.

The downside to Manor Solomon’s game is in his physical attributes. He’s not the biggest player and can be out-muscled by opponents if he gets stuck in a difficult situation.

Aside from this, his downfall can be his own propensity for skill and flair. The 23-year-old loves to take on his man and exhibit a trick or two, but that can sometimes lead to him losing possession cheaply.

What are people saying about Manor Solomon?

Generally speaking, the buzz around Manor Solomon is positive, and former Spurs star Graham Roberts is particularly happy that the club look to be signing what he describes as an “excellent young player”.

Upon hearing about the imminent transfer, football analyst and scout EBL described the signing as “incredible business,” and while Solomon may not be “anything special as an individual” he is regarded as an addition to the Spurs squad that “makes complete sense.”

In a piece for Football.London, Alasdair Gold called Solomon a “tricky winger with a little burst of acceleration.” However, Gold did state that the player needs to “improve his output,” especially in terms of assists.

It is suggested that Solomon could be an “unexpected hit” for Tottenham this year, particularly within Ange Postecoglou’s attacking set-up.

What do The Spurs Web think?

Manor Solomon is unlikely to establish himself as a regular starter for Spurs this coming season, but we’ve already seen the kind of impact he can have from the bench.

Who knows, if he has a little purple patch like he did for Fulham last year, he could find himself getting a run in the team and can hopefully chip in with a decent number of goal contributions.

To sign a player like this on a free transfer is great business for the club and adds a good level of squad depth to the roster at Tottenham.
