Will Christmas come early for Spurs, this year?

Spurs go into today’s PL game with Stoke on the back of a comfortable win midweek in the CL. Hopefully, this will be a springboard to a much-needed win in the league, which should set them up for the heavy Christmas fixture schedule ahead.

So to the team that I would hope Mauricio will start with is:

Lloris

Dier Foyth Vertonghen

Trippier Davies
Dembele Winks

Son Kane Llorente

I know to a lot of Spurs fans, this team – sheet will seem completely mental, but I have deliberately dropped both Alli and Eriksen, after too many poor showings.

Not only that, Lorente has finally found a pair of boots that ‘fit’, and he, Kane and Son, can all interchange upfront, primarily with the other two, playing off Lorente, who would be the ‘target’ man. This would take a lot of pressure of Harry Kane, with him and Son looking for either ‘knockdowns’, or simple ‘give and goes’, which worked very well in the CL against Real Madrid in the first leg, and more recently against Apoel, when Son scored Spurs’s second with exactly this scenario, not to mention the possibility of Lorente himself, actually scoring, as he did in the same game !

If it wasn’t working, then it would be no problem to bring on one or both, Deli Alli or Christian Eriksen, as impact players, and also to change the tactics and formation.
Whatever team Mauricio puts out, they need to play at a much faster tempo, than they have been in recent weeks, or if not, it will once again play into the hands of the opposition.

Due to the reshuffling of our defence, I do believe that Stoke will score at some stage, but hopefully, Spurs will take their chances now, and finish the game as easy winners, 3-1 perhaps?
