Is Dier-Dembele a possibility again

Sorry about my extended absence guys. Had some work to get through. But I am back and there is a reasonably large possibility that we may see the Dier-Dembele partnership in midfield back again. (Great Segway, I know right)

Now due to the success of our 3-4-2-1 (that’s my closest approximation at kickoff) many spurs fans are not sure about moving Dier back into midfield because it leaves a gaping hole in our back three which unfortunately Wimmer has not shown himself to be adept enough at filling. With Rose injured and not back yet (definitely not for another couple of game weeks) there is now way Davies can be utilised in that 3 CB position.

However, if we look at this from the viewpoint of Diers best position, arguably, Dier plays way better at DCM then CB. he is much more involved in the game offers extra cover and can bomb forward every once in a while to hopefully score if not assist. He has great composure on the ball and that composure can well be used in the midfield.

If Wanyama does play then maybe this is all moot coz then a Wan-bele midfield is definitely the first choice for Poch, but given that we are playing a Swansea side without Llorente it would not be the maddest idea to play a 3-4-2-1 with Dier and Wanyama or even last seasons 4-2-3-1.

Boy, the joy of seeing the old formation this weekend brought a great big grin to my face and the team looks real comfortable like that still.
