It is no secret that the future of Kieran Trippier at Tottenham is plagued with uncertainty and debate.

The 28-year-old England international was heavily criticised throughout the 2018/19 season following a number of poor performances and mistakes.

Trippier alongside many of his Spurs teammates participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup that took place prior to the 2018/19 season.

He had a successful campaign on a personal level. He scored a magnificent free kick during England’s semi-final defeat against Croatia. Whilst this was his only goal, his performance overall was enough to satisfy most Tottenham fans heading into the upcoming Premier League season.

It wasn’t to be, however. Plenty of mistakes matched with average performances have potentially cost him his place in North London.

With clubs such as Juventus and Napoli swirling for his signature (talkSPORT), we list the top five players that could replace Kieran Trippier should he leave the club this summer

Should Trippier leave the club, it isn’t as if Tottenham have no other options if they fail to make a new signing to the right back position. Young prodigy Kyle Walker-Peters has been patiently waiting for his chance the past few seasons, and a decision must be made relatively soon regarding his future.

If Spurs are to make a new signing, then Walker-Peters could potentially go out on a loan spell somewhere. But if not, there should be no reason why he shouldn’t be given the opportunity to start more often in the starting eleven.

Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Walker-Peters if Wan-Bissaka leaves Selhurst Park (Times).

The Eagles have also shown interest in Spurs target Max Aarons. (Mirror)
