It is no secret that the future of Kieran Trippier at Tottenham is plagued with uncertainty and debate.

The 28-year-old England international was heavily criticised throughout the 2018/19 season following a number of poor performances and mistakes.

Trippier alongside many of his Spurs teammates participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup that took place prior to the 2018/19 season.

He had a successful campaign on a personal level. He scored a magnificent free kick during England’s semi-final defeat against Croatia. Whilst this was his only goal, his performance overall was enough to satisfy most Tottenham fans heading into the upcoming Premier League season.

It wasn’t to be, however. Plenty of mistakes matched with average performances have potentially cost him his place in North London.

With clubs such as Juventus and Napoli swirling for his signature (talkSPORT), we list the top five players that could replace Kieran Trippier should he leave the club this summer

5. Dani Alves

Probably the most controversial out of the list, but Dani Alves shouldn't be out of the question.

At 36 years of age, it isn't difficult seeing why people have a problem with a potential transfer to Spurs.

However, Spurs would be able to sign the Brazilian right-back on a free, meaning they really don't have much to lose.

Alves has plenty of experience up his sleeve. His career has spanned across various large clubs, including Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG.

He would certainly provide experience and judgement to the squad, which ultimately could help the Club if a title challenge is on the cards.
