Five winners from Tottenham’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Slavia Prague

Tottenham Hotspur secured a second home victory in a row after beating Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League and so it is time for another article where there are no losers to mention.

There are plenty of reasons to be happy if you are a Tottenham Hotspur supporter after a second victory in the space of four days.

Spurs started well against Slavia Prague, but required a bit of luck to score their opening goal. They were unable to find the net from open play, but two penalties were slotted home to gather all three points in the Champions League.

There is a more positive atmosphere around the club after another win, so it is time to name another five winners from a much improved performance.

Guglielmo Vicario made some good saves for Tottenham

Slavia Prague did not cause Spurs many problems, but they did manage to test Guglielmo Vicario a few times during the game.

The Italian made five saves in total and prevented 1.24 goals, which will do his confidence a world of good as talks of his mistakes against Fulham continue to linger.

Vicario has another clean sheet to his name and he had to work in order to earn it. He should be able to start feeling more secure again in the Tottenham first-team.

Mohammed Kudus was a key Spurs performer yet again

Every time Mohammed Kudus plays, something good happens. Tonight was no different as the 25-year-old scored a composed penalty to double the hosts’ lead.

Kudus was very good again for Spurs and was unlucky not to register an assist in the first half after placing a great cross into the box.

Tottenham fans will be delighted when Dejan Kulusevski makes his long awaited return, but he will have to work hard to have any chance of reclaiming the right wing position from Kudus.

Xavi Simons followed up on his impressive display against Brentford

Xavi Simons is beginning to look like the real deal for Spurs and he produced another strong performance on Tuesday night.

The midfielder won three free kicks during the match and played some impressive long balls, before rounding off his display by winning and converting a penalty.

There is no question that Spurs have got themselves a very good player in Simons and he will only continue to improve as time goes on. He could be one of the biggest factors to any success Tottenham might have this season.

Cristian Romero showed good leadership against Slavia Prague

Spurs are starting to look more comfortable in defence under Thomas Frank and this is largely thanks to his two centre-backs.

Cristian Romero was the standout defender for Tottenham against Slavia Prague, creating one big goalscoring opportunity and winning most of his challenges. One of his best moments came when he allowed Simons to take the team’s second penalty, despite relishing the opportunity himself.

The club captain will need to keep up his fine form, because he will be without his defensive partner Micky van de Ven when Spurs face Borussia Dortmund in January.

Heung-min Son got to see Tottenham secure a big victory

Tottenham legend Heung-min Son returned to North London to give a proper goodbye to his loyal supporters and it was certainly a good night for him to be at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs have already suffered four home defeats this season, but the LAFC star came back to watch one of his former teams’ better performances.

Son might not have been shown any respect by the visiting supporters when he took to the pitch, but he will be grateful for being able to give a proper Spurs goodbye and the Tottenham fans will be just as happy to have seen him again.
