Is Zlatan Ibrahimovic the short-term answer for Tottenham?

The loss to Manchester United hurt to a great degree after our second-half performance, However, the loss of Harry Kane to injury for two months could hurt us even more. So what is the solution to fill the massive void left to our team?

Perhaps one option would be to recruit Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a short-term loan.

Despite plying his trade in the MLS with LA Galaxy, the evergreen 37-year-old scored 22 goals in 27 games last year which shows he still has an eye for the back of the net.

The quality of football in the MLS league is not of the same standard as the Premier League, however, Ibrahimovic has the physical attributes and experience demonstrated during his time with Manchester United where in his first season he scored 28 goals in 46 appearances during the 2016-17 season.

Ibrahimovic also was United’s match-winner in the League Cup Final and played a pivotal role in their Europa League campaign which they also won despite Ibrahimovic missing the final through a knee injury.

Perhaps Ibrahimovic would relish the challenge of being involved in major games we will be involved with over the next two months where we hope to get through to the League Cup final next week and in less than a month face Borussia Dortmund in the last sixteen of the Champions League.

It would be a major surprise if we were to look to sign a proven striker on a permanent basis and despite his advancing years, Ibrahimovic joining as a loan signing would be a massive boost to the squad as we strive to keep momentum in all the four competitions we are involved in.
