Jesse Marsch reveals five Leeds United players will miss Spurs match through injury

Tottenham Hotspur will host Leeds United in the Premier League this afternoon in the final game before the season pauses for the World Cup and Leeds boss Jesse Marsch has revealed which of his players are unlikely to feature in north London.

Spurs go into the game against Leeds with big expectations and find themselves needing a win to end a poor run of form which has seen them lose to Liverpool in the league and crash out of the Carabao Cup against Nottingham Forest in midweek.

Leeds United, meanwhile, will be full of confidence after defeating Liverpool at Anfield at the end of October and taking all three points from a thrilling encounter with Bournemouth which ended 4-3 in the Yorkshire club’s favour. The Whites did, however, also bow out of the cup this week, losing 1-0 to Wolves.

With both sides keen to get all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today, Jesse Marsch has provided an update on the injury concerns in his squad in his latest press conference (via Leeds Live).

Marsch said: “[Archie] Gray’s injury has turned into an ankle issue. Shut him down for six to eight weeks. A defect in his ankle was highlighted when he broke his toe. [Adam] Forshaw is training hard. If Spurs were three days later he’d make it. Stuart [Dallas] is making great progress.”

“Patrick [Bamford] is out for this match. [Mateusz] Klich out for this match after a knee contact at Wolves. [Jack] Harrison questionable with a muscle issue,” he added.

It sounds like Leeds United have plenty of injury worries, which can only be a good thing for Tottenham given their own fitness concerns. With so many dangerous players likely to be missing for Leeds, it’s hoped Spurs can take advantage and go into the World Cup break on a high with a positive result on Saturday.
