Spurs full time ratings vs Nottingham Forest – Micky to the rescue

Here’s how we rated the Spurs players following the 3-1 win in this evening’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou’s side took the lead in the first half courtesy of an own goal, only for Chris Wood to equalise. Second half goals from Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro ensured Spurs moved back into fourth place.

Guglielmo Vicario: Could do little about the equaliser and made a couple of smart saves in the first half. Rarely troubled in the second. 6.

Pedro Porro: Made a poor defensive error in the first half which nearly led to a second goal for Forest. He made up for it when his half-volley found the back of the net to put Spurs 3-1 ahead. 6.

Cristian Romero: A typically solid performance from the World Cup winner. Solid in the air and composed on the ball. 7.

Micky van de Ven: Showed his forwards how to score when he blasted the ball home from just inside the area, a thumping finish. Defensively sound once again, what a signing he has been. 7.

Destiny Udogie: It looked almost like he couldn’t be bothered to track the run which led to Woods’ equaliser. Spend most of the second half trying to contribute in Tottenham’s attacking phases. 6.

Pape Matar Sarr: No real impact in the first half from the youngster, replaced at half time. 4.

Yves Bissouma: Had a couple of chances on goal but his general midfield play is still a million miles away from his August form. Hooked at half time. 4.

James Maddison: Still trying to work himself back to the levels he enjoyed before his ankle injury. Had plenty of touches on the ball but struggled again to be a threat in the final third. 5.

Timo Werner: His cross led to the opener and had plenty of the ball down the left. A really solid shift from the German, who was Tottenham’s brightest player for large periods of the game. 7.

Brennan Johnson: A start against his former side and will be disappointed that he was not able to make any impact on the game. 5.

Heung-min Son: No clear cut chances for the captain up until the 84th minute and it looked like he was about to score until the keeper tipped his shot onto the post. 5.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Brought on at the interval. His deft flick of a header was brilliant in setting up Porro’s goal. Must be in with a chance of replacing Bissouma in the starting XI. Booked. 6.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: The second of Ange’s half-time substitutions. Went close after unleashing a shot from outside of the area moments after his arrival. Would have been thankful that his lapse of concentration on 81 minutes did not result in a goal.. 6.

Giovani Lo Celso: Came on with 15 minutes left to play. Curled a shot well wide in injury time. 5.5.

Dejan Kulusevski: The Swede had to contend with a place on the bench once again. Some poor choices when in possession. 5.

Dane Scarlett: An 88th replacement for Brennan Johnson. Little time to make any sort of imapct. N/A.
