Spurs half-time player ratings vs Brighton – Looking better out wide

Tottenham head into the break against Roberto De Zerbi ‘s side currently 1-0 ahead courtesy of a Harry Kane header.

Hugo Lloris: Was rooted to the spot for March’s effort that went wide. Saved well from Welbeck. 6.

Matt Doherty: Has got forward well on more than one occasion but it is telling that he has been out of the side for a while with his passing looking rusty at times. Did well just after the half hour when defending a cross in his own half. 6.

Cristian Romero: Needs at times to get closer to Dier defensively 6.

Eric Dier: Strong in the air as usual. 6.

Ben Davies Back in the side in place of Lenglet and his presence has allowed Sessegnon to play in an advanced position. 6.

Ryan Sessegnon: Has done well to get forward down the left but needs to concentrate with his defensive duties. 6.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Played a neat ball down the right to release Doherty early on. Saw a fuzzing effort on goal well saved by Sanchez. 7.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: His usual kind of play in the middle, needs to get righter to the Brighton midfield and dispossessed on more than one occasion. 6.

Yves Bissouma: A rare start for the midfielder against his former side. Booked for a needless foul. 6.

Heung-min Son: Provided the assist for Kane’s opener. Has shown good hold-up play on occasion. 6.

Harry Kane: Booked for handball. Showed great reactions to nod his side in front. 7.
