Spurs half time ratings vs Chelsea – Admit it Ange, we have a set-piece problem

Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty-five minutes of action in this evening’s Premier League clash against Chelsea.

Guglielmo Vicario: He is still looking nervous at set pieces, which are a complete mess. 5.

Pedro Porro: Has struggled at times when defending against Mudryk. His crossing has been way below standard. 3.

Cristian Romero: Another to be blasted by Postecoglou on the touchline. He should have scored with a header from Porro’s free-kick. 5.

Micky van de Ven: Saved his side from going behind in the opening moments when he cleared off the line to deny Jackson. 6.

Emerson Royal: Asked to operate at left-back with Udogie and Davies out injured, way out of his depth. 3.

Pape Matar Sarr: Nearly gifted Chelsea a goal in the opening five minutes when he lost the ball in a dangerous position. His passing has been poor and did not escape the wrath of Postecoglou’s wrath on the touchline. 3.

Yves Bissouma: Still playing as the number six and way too many passes sideways rather than forwards. Where is the same player that dominated United and Liverpool in August? 3.

Dejan Kulusevski: With Maddison benched, he has been playing centrally behind the front three. Has not had any influence on the midfield battle. 4.

Heung-min Son: Back in his more familiar position on the left and up against the inexperienced Alfie Gilchrist who has had an easy half. Yet another half where he has been way too quiet. 3.

Richarlison: Has not had many opportunities, especially with Tottenham failing to play the ball through the middle. 4.

Brennan Johnson: Has seen plenty of the ball out on the right. Frustratingly inconsistent once again with the quality of his delivery into the box. 4.
