Spurs half time ratings vs Forest – Richarlison to the rescue

Here’s how we rated the Spurs players following the opening forty-five minutes of action in this evening’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side head into the break currently a goal to the good thanks to another Richarlison goal, but the Lilywhites have struggled to play their usual free-flowing football due to Nottingham Forest’s high intensity pressing approach.

Guglielmo Vicario: Made a couple of fairly simple saves from shots straight at him, but little else to do otherwise. 6.

Pedro Porro: A quiet first half for Porro. Made a number of good interceptions to clear the ball, but hasn’t been able to influence things going forward as much as usual. 6.

Cristian Romero: Snuffed out a few potentially dangerous situations by reading the game effectively. 7.

Ben Davies: Some tidy defending and covering, managed to keep Morgan Gibbs-White under control. Stepped out of defence a couple of times with the ball at his feet to try and get things moving. 7.

Destiny Udogie: Bursting forward as always. Picked up a yellow card, which means he misses the next game. 6.

Yves Bissouma: Has given the ball away a couple of times with sloppy passes early on, but got into his rhythm as the half went on. 6.

Pape Matar Sarr: Has been uncharacteristically sloppy in possession once or twice. Like Bissouma, has settled into the game as it developed. 6.

Dejan Kulusevski: Started central, picking up the ball in dangerous areas. Moved out to the right once Brennan Johnson was forced off. Ended the half by whipping in a beautiful ball for Richarlison to score. 8.

Richarlison: A couple of mazy runs that came to nothing, but starved of service otherwise. That is, until a wonderful ball into the box from Dejan Kulusevski offered Richarlison the perfect chance to head home. 7.

Heung-min Son: Aside from a lively opening few minutes, Son did not have much to do down the left hand side. Forest players were clearly instructed to double up on the Spurs skipper to nullify his threat. 6.

Brennan Johnson: A real shame to see him replaced by Oliver Skipp due to concussion after half an hour. 6.

Oliver Skipp: Came on after 30 minutes and held firm in the middle of the park. Has had little influence on the game, but has looked tidy enough. 6.
