Spurs half time ratings vs Man City – So many wasteful passes

Here’s how we rated the Spurs players following the opening forty-five minutes of action in this evening’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the break currently level at 0-0.

Guglielmo Vicario: Showed his brilliant reflexes in the build-up to the offside goal. Has been forced to kick long uncharacteristically on occasion due to a lack of players dropping back to receive a pass. 6.

Pedro Porro: With Tottenham playing on the back foot, the Spaniard has had little chance to show his final-ball delivery in the City half. Made an important block to deny Bobb just before half time. 6.

Cristian Romero: Captaining the side in Son’s absence. 6.

Micky van de Ven: His pace at the back is so important. 7.

Destiny Udogie: Breathed a sight of relief when he slipped early on only for Bobb’s goal to be ruled offside. Needs to be wary of how much space he is leaving Kyle Walker in at times down the right. Made a couple of important interceptions. 7.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Playing as the deepest of the midfielders, the pace of the game has been an issue for him at times. 5.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Has had little impact on the game with City bossing the midfield. 5.

Dejan Kulusevski: Back in the side after missing the United game through illness. His passing has not been up to the usual standard having failed to play in Werner twice. 5.

Richarlison: Has worked hard to press from the front but has been starved of any opportunities in front of goal. 6.

Timo Werner: Must be pulling his hair out, three occasions in which the ball could have been released to him in an attacking area. 6.

Brennan Johnson: His final ball still needs a lot of work. 4.
