Rose was a product of the Leeds United youth academy from 2005 to 2006. At the conclusion of the 2006/07 season, Leeds were relegated from the Championship and demoted to League One.

The Club was handed a 10-point deduction for entering financial administration. Leeds’ financial difficulties meant they had to sell on players to generate funds, one of which was Danny Rose, who was sold to Tottenham for around £1m (Guardian).
