The first-half whistle has just blown on the Premier League match between Ipswich Town and Tottenham Hotspur and it’s time for our player ratings.
Both sides are now preparing to head back onto the pitch for the second half and we have given our analysis on the performances of Ange Postecoglou‘s players who have featured for Tottenham in the first half at Portman Road.
Postecoglou made three changes for the match with Destiny Udogie, Archie Gray and Brennan Johnson coming into the starting XI in place of Pedro Porro, Ben Davies and James Maddison.
Yesterday, we reported that Maddison had picked up an injury following Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Manchester United and started today’s match from the bench.

Tottenham first-half player ratings vs Ipswich Town
Below, we have given each Tottenham player a performance rating on a scale of 0-10, with 10 highest score achievable for an impressive performance.
Brennan Johnson has scored both goals as Tottenham lead 2-1 at the interval.
Guglielmo Vicario: Made two big saves inside the first minute to keep the score level, could do little about Hutchinson’s goal. 6.
Djed Spence: Back on his more familiar right side, has shown some really good footwork. 6.
Archie Gray: Has had a real test on his hands with the threat caused by Liam Delap. Played a beautiful ball over the top to release Son for Tottenham’s opener. 6.
Kevin Danso: Had a shaky opening couple of minutes but grew into the game. Lost possession of the ball outside of the penalty area which led to Hutchinson’s goal. 5.
Destiny Udogie: Back in the side following injury, his pace has caused some issues down the left side. 6.
Rodrigo Bentancur: Started the move for Tottenham’s second goal with a slide pass to Son. Had an effort just before the half time saved by the keeper. 6.
Lucas Bergvall: Had Tottenham’s first attempt on goal after 12 minutes but tried to place the finish, which was blocked, needs to get involved further up the pitch. 5.
Dejan Kulusevski: Operating in more of a central role with Johnson back on the right. Still looks like he is lacking some of his early-season energy. 6.
Heung-min Son: Did brilliantly down the left to show some trickery and fire the ball across the six-yard box to tee up Johnson. He did equally well for the second to tee up a second for Johnson. 8.
Mathys Tel: Has had limited time on the ball with Ipswich packing the midfield, needs to be stronger when in possession. 5.
Brennan Johnson: Booked on fourteen minutes for a silly foul to stop an Ipswich counter attack. Got the goal, doing what he does best – tapping home from close range. He got his second shortly after with a neat finish. 7.
