As we head into the business end of the 24/25 season, several of Tottenham Hotspur’s injured players are beginning to return to full fitness. But what is the club’s strongest XI once everyone is back fit?
During the last few weeks, several of Tottenham’s injured players have made a return. Wilson Odobert, James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario all made it back to the squad against Manchester United.
However, a few others remain sidelined and are expected to return in two weeks, these are: Dominic Solanke, Richarlison, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
With their return date drawing ever closer, Ange Postecoglou would soon have a full-strength team if his players remain fit. But what is his best eleven? Here is our thought.

Tottenham Hotspur’s strongest XI – Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero return
Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: Thus far this season, Brandon Austin, Fraser Forster, Antonin Kinsky, and Vicario have all played in goal. While each has provided at least a couple of solid performances of late, this season has also allowed us to appreciate Vicario even more. Although he is not without the occasional mistake, he undoubtedly makes Spurs better.
Right-back – Pedro Porro: Porro has not been consistent this season for Tottenham. He has had games where he looked miles off it and games where he looked really solid. However, with the Spanish full-back, there is a wow factor, as he can create a chance or even pop up with a goal.
Centre-back – Cristian Romero: In centre-back, it is almost a no-brainer. If Romero is fully fit then he simply has to make it into our team.
Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: Van de Ven is probably one of the hardest players to replace in this team. His pace and driving runs just cannot be replicated by any other in our squad. When fit, he makes us ten times better.
Left-back – Djed Spence: It has taken some time for Djed to find his feet in this Tottenham team. But, wow, what a player he has become in the last three months. Recency bias or not, Spence has been miles clear of Udogie this season. I mean he has been rated the best defender in the Premier League in 2025, so that tells you something.
Pivot-midfielder – Rodrigo Bentancur: The holding midfield position has been one of the most inconsistent areas of the team this season. Bissouma, Sarr, and Bentancur have all been largely average, with Bentancur standing out as the best of a fairly underwhelming bunch.
Centre-midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: I like the energy and work rate of Bergvall. He seems like a player that is ready to put a shift in for the team. If there was a cup final tomorrow and I had to pick a midfielder to play in the midfield role from this group, then I am going with the youngster.
Centre-midfielder – James Maddison: With Bentancur and Bergvall bringing in energy and grit to the midfield, James Maddison will be the creative outlet to pick passes, carry the ball and just make things happen from the centre of the park. On his day, no one plays that advanced midfield role better than him in this team, so he makes it into our best XI.
Right-midfielder – Dejan Kulusevski: If you are picking your best Tottenham XI, you simply just have to include the Swede. The tactical flexibility he gives is an ace, as you can easily move him to midfield if our midfielders are subpar. However, for the sake of this XI, he is on the right, with a license to drift around.
Striker – Dominic Solanke: Once Solanke is fit, he returns to this team as the main number nine. Mathys Tel has impressed, but Solanke offers you much more in terms of pressing, hold-up play and finishing.
Left-midfielder – Heung-min Son: Son is the captain of this team and even if he has not been consistent, you do feel that Ange Postecoglou would include him in his best XI. The forward has 18 goal involvements already, and with him, there is a chance of a moment of magic.
