A bit like a more exciting Trippier signing in a different position. Young? tick. Premier league experience? Tick. Improvement on what we have? Tick. Room to grow even further? Tick. Low price? Hmmmm. McCarthy would be a steal if he could be prised from Everton for less than ~£15million. He’s an extremely hard-working centre-mid who could dovetail nicely with any of Bentaleb, Mason or Dembele. He seems to be a Pochettino type player and would be a very solid alternative to Schneiderlin who I’m not going to mention because he has been discussed to death already.
