Too soon? Many of you are probably still feeling a bit raw over missing out on the Portuguese playmaker when AVB came in. A €25million deal on deadline day seemed wrapped up only to cruelly collapse at the last minute. Over the last two seasons Moutinho has fallen back under the radar a bit, however, he hasn’t lost all that appeal overnight.

Despite the emergence of Bentaleb, Moutinho would still come closest to filling the creative hole left by Modric. At 28, he not only has at least 4 more years at the peak of his abilities but he would also provide much needed experience and leadership to our young squad. If a deal could be struck for around the €20million mark it would simply be too good to turn down.
