Report: Tottenham have asked to be ‘kept apprised’ about 19-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to look at various avenues when it comes to bolstering their midfield this summer, and they have now asked to be ‘kept apprised’ of the situation regarding Bristol City star Alex Scott.

New Spurs manager Ange Postegoclou has a big job on his hands in his first transfer window as he looks to rebuild a squad which limped to eighth place in the Premier League last season.

The midfield area is one which is severely lacking in quality for Tottenham, particularly when it comes to finding a spark of creativity that can change a game.

James Maddison is thought to be a ‘priority target’ when it comes to solving that problem (Telegraph). However, there is plenty of competition for the signing of the Leicester City playmaker.

One alternative to Maddison could be Bristol City’s Alex Scott. The 19-year-old has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur for a while now (GiveMeSport) and Scott’s current club have already accepted he will leave this summer (Daily Mail).

Tottenham ask to be kept updated on Alex Scott

Whether the young star will move to Spurs or not remains to be seen, but it seems the North London club are keeping a close eye on the situation regarding the Championship player.

That’s according to a report from Football.London, which names Scott as one of the “other targets” Tottenham are looking into.

Despite the fact he is “more inexperienced” than the likes of Maddison, Spurs have “asked to be kept apprised of the situation” when it comes to any movement involving Scott.

However, Spurs are “not the only Premier League club” who are keeping tabs on Scott, a player Bristol City value “in the region of” £20 million.

Spurs Web Opinion

I really like the look of Alex Scott and he would be a fine player to add to our squad.

He is exactly the kind of explosive, exciting talent we should be looking to build our new project around, and I’d love to see us make a move for him this summer.
