Report: Champions League football could help Spurs to land transfer target this summer

Pedro Neto has his eye set on playing Champions League football next season if he is to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, according to Football Insider.

The report claims that Neto wants to test himself at the highest level and even look to compete at winning the Premier League title in the future.

The Portuguese is attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur, along with Premier League rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle who are all keen on his services.

Tottenham are currently in a healthy position to secure a top four finish this season having beaten Aston Villa 4-0 on Sunday, the North Londoners closed the gap to just two points and have a game in hand over Unai Emery’s side.

The same publication reported earlier this week that Tottenham transfer guru Fabio Paratici has been left impressed by Neto.

Pedro Neto is likely to cost between £50-£60million

Sources claim that clubs who secure Champions League qualification will hold a strong advantage in their attempts to lure the 24-year-old.

Wolves are said to be prepared to sanction Neto‘s exit if a bid of around £50-£60million is tabled with the Molineux outfit keeping a close eye on Financial Fair Play rules.

Neto tore Spurs apart on occasions at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month in their 2-1 win, his pace and dribbling ability was clear to see for their winner when Wolves capitalised on a mistake from Yves Bissouma.

Ange Postecoglou loves players who have plenty of pace to be able to adopt his style of play; hopefully, we will see Neto playing Champions League football in N17 next season.
