‘A deal will be done’ – Journalist delivers positive update on rumored Spurs transfer

According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to complete a deal for Swansea defender Joe Rodon before Friday’s domestic transfer deadline.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold recently hinted in a Q and A that Tottenham might pull out of the race for Rodon if they cannot get a deal agreed at the right price, given the competition the Lilywhites face for the youngster.

However, The Athletic suggest that Tottenham remain the favourites to snap up the Wales international, with West Ham having been put off by the Swans’ asking price and Leicester unlikely to move for another central defender before Friday.

The report claims that the North Londoners will pay a few million more than the £7m they initially had in mind, with the 22-year-old keen on joining Tottenham.

It is also said that Spurs could potentially look to loan the defender back to Swansea after completing a permeant deal for him.

The report asserts that the Welsh club want to sign an additional two centre-backs before letting Rodon leave.
