In an exclusive chat with Spurs Web, Aaron Lennon sends some honest advice to Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate Mikey Moore, with both having made their debuts at such a young age.
The parallels between Aaron Lennon and Mikey Moore are plain for all to see. The former made his Premier League debut for Leeds United – ironically against Spurs – at the age of 16 years and 129 days. Mikey Moore made his senior Tottenham debut off the bench against Man City at 16 years and 277 days.
Both Lennon and Moore are diminutive wingers. Both like running at defenders with the ball at their feet. And both have that fearless talent of getting 60,000 bums off seats around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
After joining Spurs in 2005, Lennon went on to make over 360 appearances across 10 years in Lilywhite. His influence was so immense that he was invited back to the Tottenham Legends vs AC Milan Glorie event this weekend, where he laid on two assists for Robbie Keane.
Some Tottenham fans even want Aaron Lennon to come and join the first-team off the back of his electric display against Andrea Pirlo and co.

Aaron Lennon tells Mikey Moore to listen to Heung-min Son
When asked if he had any advice for Mikey Moore, Lennon exclusively told Spurs Web: “Listen to the senior lads around you, listen to the manager, go in there and work hard every day to keep improving your game. Enjoy it, is one of the main things.
“I love watching him, he’s a real talent. And also, he’s got to be patient. He’s had little bits of involvement but being around the first team is only going to make him a better player. So, take so much information off the senior lads – Sonny and the other wide players – the manager too.
“Take it all in and use it, then go out there, enjoy it, and express yourself because he’s a phenomenal, phenomenal talent.”
Mikey Moore recently made GOAL’s list of 50 Next-Gen stars to watch, alongside four other Tottenham teammates. Another Spurs legend – Jermain Defoe – also heaped praise on Moore, tipping him as a starlet who has the ability to revive Tottenham’s fortunes.
Mikey Moore’s stats this season at Tottenham Hotspur
Moore’s season was derailed somewhat at the turn of the new year due to a lingering illness. The Spurs academy graduate is also now struggling to get consistent minutes amidst the return of Tottenham’s injured contingent, including Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson.
However, Moore has still clocked up an impressive number of minutes for the senior team this season, which will undoubtedly aid his long-term development at the club.
