Agent denies Spurs man is on his way out of North London

Jack Clarke’s agent, Ian Harte has denied that the winger is set to join Birmingham City on a season-long loan deal.

Following his disappointing loan spells at Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers last season, the winger was involved in Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies ahead of the current campaign and he gave a decent account of himself.

Some Spurs fans were certainly impressed with what they saw from the 19-year-old in pre-season, with some reports indicating that Jose Mourinho might be ready to give him first-team opportunities (Evening Standard).

However, the teenager has failed to make any of Tottenham’s first four matchday squads this season despite the congested fixture list the Lilywhites have had to deal with.

The Birmingham Mail reported a few days ago that Birmingham City, one of the sides which Clarke faced in pre-season, were close to signing him on a season-long loan deal.

However, Harte, who played for Leeds during his own career has now taken to social media to rubbish those rumours:

The most important thing for Clarke this season is to get competitive matches under his belt. His confidence was clearly hit last season and so he needs to be loaned to a team where he is guaranteed matches, even if that means potentially loaning him to a League One team or an SPL team for half a season.
