Tottenham Hotspur’s asking price for Alfie Devine has now come to light after a club involved in the Champions League qualifiers express interest in the midfielder.
Devine gave everyone a reminder of his quality on loan at Preston North End last season, finishing the campaign with eight goals and six assists.
Preston have a £4.5m option to buy the Tottenham youngster permanently this summer, and it is unclear if the Championship club will take that up.
It was previously suggested that Preston are waiting for their takeover to be completed before pushing ahead with a move for the Spurs man, but another giant has now entered the race for the 21-year-old.

Celtic find out asking price for Tottenham’s Alfie Devine
Football Insider have now revealed that the Championship club’s purchase clause on the attacking midfielder is set to expire today at midnight.
Unless Preston manage to complete a surprise late deal for Devine, the door could open for Celtic, who are fans of the Tottenham midfielder.
The report says that the Scottish giants have ‘strong links’ to the 21-year-old’s agent and are continuing to monitor his situation closely.
It is revealed that Celtic would have to pay a total package of £6m for the midfielder, with Spurs wanting a fixed fee of £4.5m and the rest in potential add-ons.
Devine deal will not be easy for Celtic to complete
While £6m does not appear like a big fee from a Tottenham perspective, it would make Devine one of the more expensive signings in Celtic’s history.
However, the Bhoys would have the funds to complete the deal if they cash in on Arne Engels this summer.
They could face plenty of competition, though, with reports indicating that as many as eight clubs around Europe are eyeing a move for the Tottenham midfielder.
