‘Amazing business’ – Pundit reacts to rumours linking Spurs with 32-year-old

Former Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny believes it would be an amazing piece of business by Tottenham if they managed to sign Sergio Aguero in the summer.

Manchester City have confirmed that Aguero will be leaving the club when his contract runs out at the end of the current season.

Tottenham are expected to be in the market for a striker, with the club reportedly deciding not to take up the £36m option they have to sign Carlos Vinicius on a permanent basis (Daily Mail).

The Telegraph have claimed that Tottenham are one of the clubs that Sergio Aguero would consider joining this summer even if the North Londoners do not qualify for the Champions League.

The rumour has left some Spurs fans on social media excited about a potential Kane-Aguero linkup up front next season.

Kenny believes that the Tottenham fans are right to be excited about the prospect of landing the 32-year-old and insisted that the City star might be looking to stay in the Premier League to add to his goal tally.

When asked about the speculation linking Aguero with a move to Spurs, the pundit told Football Insider: “That would be amazing business. There will be a queue of clubs going after Aguero.

“He’ll have his pickings. He might want to stay here and break the goalscoring record. He’s been linked with Chelsea as well.”

If Aguero decided that he wants to stay in the Premier League, I believe he would be likely to go to a club like Chelsea, Arsenal or Leicester where he will be the main man up front. I do not see why he would want to come to Spurs and play second fiddle to Kane.
