Ange Postecoglou makes 30-word statement that will get Tottenham fans excited

Ange Postecoglou has given the clearest indication yet that his job at Tottenham is not done, making it clear that he is hungry now to achieve a lot more following their historic Europa League win.

Ahead of the final, some journalists claimed that Tottenham are likely to make a managerial change even if they lifted the Europa League.

However, what they perhaps had not accounted for is the sheer emotions involved in the club lifting a trophy, given that they had gone without any silverware for 17 years.

Postecoglou has become a hero for the Spurs faithful, and sacking a manager who has delivered a European trophy to the club after 41 years will be an extremely bold call by Daniel Levy.

Ange Postecoglou says his job at Tottenham is not done

During the trophy parade on Friday, Postecoglou teased the Spurs fans that his third season would be even better than his second.

Now, the Tottenham head coach has made it clear that he still wants to achieve a lot in N17, remarking that the side can dream big now that they know how to get over the line and win trophies.

Postecoglou has said ahead of the clash against Brighton (via Football.London): “I think we’re really building something. I’m not going to put a limit on what we can achieve. I’ve got players and a club now who know how to win.”

Postecoglou reveals whether he has spoken with Daniel Levy

However, despite making it clear that he wants to remain in charge, Postecoglou revealed that he has not held any talks with Daniel Levy and the Spurs hierarchy over his future.

When asked if he has had a conversation with the Tottenham chairman, the Australian responded: “I haven’t had discussions on it. Similar to before the game, I haven’t had any discussions with the club.”

It is thus clear that the ball is now well and truly in Levy’s court and the Spurs chairman will be under pressure to give Postecoglou one more season, given how the fan opinion on the 59-year-old has shifted completely over the last few days.
