According to reports, Ange Postecoglou has to win one upcoming game if he is to hang on to his job at Tottenham Hotspur.

Daniel Levy is not pulling the trigger just yet
Spurs fans would have been forgiven for thinking that the defeat against Leicester at home would be the final nail in the coffin for Postecoglou at Tottenham.
The boos and chanting ringing around the stadium after the final whistle could not be drowned out despite the club’s best efforts, and Levy will know that pressure will continue to mount on him if things do not change soon.
However, reports indicate that the Spurs chairman is not planning on replacing Postecoglou for the moment, with the club keen on backing him with at least one more signing before the transfer window closes.

Ange Postecoglou has to win upcoming Tottenham game
ESPN now claim that the reason that Postecoglou is not being sacked is because of the second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal that is coming up next week.
Tottenham travel to Anfield with a 1-0 lead and have a huge opportunity to book their place in a showpiece Wembley final.
The report says that Postecoglou will be given an opportunity to win that tie and take the Lilywhites to the final, which will be their first since they played Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final in 2021.
However, ESPN do add the caveat that Tottenham’s plans could change if there is a ‘dramatic downturn’ in the intervening two games against Elfsborg and Brentford.

Why Levy wants Postecoglou to be in charge of the semifinal
Levy is no stranger to sacking managers before a big game as he famously did with Jose Mourinho before the League Cup final in 2021.
However, on that occasion, it seemed like Mourinho had completely lost the dressing room, and the best chance of improving the morale of the squad before the final was to sack the Portuguese coach.
That is evidently not the case with Postecoglou, who still has the full support of the players. The Tottenham hierarchy seemingly feel that the players will fight hard to get to the final as they know they are playing for the Aussie coach’s future.
