Some Spurs fans on social media lavished praise on Giovani Lo Celso after the midfielder put in an impressive shift during the 2-0 win over Antwerp.
Lo Celso was one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers in the second half of last season but the Argentine had failed to hit the ground running this campaign, partly due to injury problems.
While the midfielder put in a solid defensive shift against Arsenal on Sunday after starting in place of the injured Tanguy Ndombele, he was sloppy on the ball on occasions.
The former PSG man also came in for a lot of criticism on social media for deciding to try and chip the goalkeeper against Chelsea when he had runners either side of him24-year-old’s.
However, Lo Celso answered his critics with a resounding performance against Antwerp as he was Tottenham’s most creative player on the night.
The midfielder also got on the scoresheet with a well-taken finish after being played in by Harry Kane and earned Jose Mourinho’s praise after the match.
It was not just the Tottenham boss who was impressed with the 24-year-old’s showing but some Spurs fans were also delighted to see him returning back to his best.
