A Benfica star has shed light on his experience working with Roberto De Zerbi and has given a come-and-get-me plea to Tottenham.
De Zerbi’s impact at Spurs has been unmistakable, with the Lilywhites delivering much-improved performances since the Italian replaced Igor Tudor.
However, Tottenham’s Premier League status remains on the line heading into the final game of the season, with the North Londoners needing a point against Everton to avoid relegation.
Reports indicate that Tottenham are prepared to back De Zerbi with significant funds this summer if they stay up, with the 46-year-old expected to have a big say on Spurs’ recruitment decisions.

Anatoliy Trubin admits Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi transformed his game
Benfica number one Anatoliy Trubin has now reflected on working with the Spurs head coach during his time at Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 24-year-old has been a consistent performer between the sticks for the Portuguese giants since signing for the club in 2023, and he admitted that De Zerbi helped him understand his role much better.
When asked about his experience working with the Italian coach, Trubin told A Bola (as relayed by Sport Witness): “Crazy. He opened my eyes to another way of playing, even for me, as a goalkeeper. He wants everyone to know their role. We still ask ourselves how we played football before him, because he opened a new path for us to play.”
Trubin admits he would love to work with De Zerbi again
Spurs are reportedly scouring the market for a new number one, with Guglielmo Vicario expected to depart the club this summer.
Trubin has now hinted that he would be open to playing under De Zerbi again, revealing his desire to play in the Premier League.
When asked if he wants to work with the Spurs boss again, the Ukraine international responded: “He could still teach me a lot. There is no player in the world who does not want to play in the Premier League, but I have to continue working hard.”
