Tottenham Hotspur fans will be very excited by what BBC Radio Oxford commentator Jerome Sale has said about Will Lankshear’s performances in the Championship this season.
Will Lankshear did not have the easiest of starts to his spell at Oxford United, but the striker has managed to turn things around and become one of the club’s most important players over recent months.
The Tottenham academy graduate has now netted 10 times this season, with many of his goals proving crucial in Oxford’s quest to stay up.
The striker, as well as fellow Spurs youngster, Jamie Donley, both played a key part in the club’s 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday, which has given them a fighting chance of staying in the second tier.

Tottenham starlet Will Lanskear is expected to be in demand this summer
Jerome Sale has now lavished praise on the 20-year-old striker, not just for his eye for goal, but also for his attitude and commitment to the cause.
He has now claimed that clubs are already queuing up to take Lankshear off Spurs’ hands this summer on the back of his impressive displays for a side struggling to create chances.
The BBC Radio Oxford commentator said (via Football.London): “Will Lankshear has been impressive from the moment he walked into Oxford United. It’s hard not to forget, when you watch him play, that he is only 20. The same is true when you hear him speak.
“His weekday work ethic, I am told, is second to none. On match days, perhaps he can manage his output touch more selectively, but doing things less than wholeheartedly doesn’t appear to be in his DNA.
“A strong, physically imposing forward with 10 goals to his name in a Championship side that’s struggled to create chances – it’s no wonder bigger clubs than Oxford are queuing up to take him off Spurs’ hands.
“They will expect to pay handsomely. His obvious commitment to the U’s this season, despite being on loan, is so refreshing and infectious that he will be fondly and proudly remembered and supported from afar wherever he lands next.”
Spurs have made Lankshear’s transfer decision
It was reported by Football Insider last month that Middlesbrough were willing to sanction a loan-to-buy deal worth around £15m for Lankshear, but their interest was knocked back by Spurs.
Meanwhile, Sports Boom claimed last week that Tottenham want to keep Lankshear at the club next season if they get relegated.
In light of the 20-year-old’s displays at the Kassam Stadium this term, the North London club’s decision-makers are convinced that the striker could help the club bounce straight back up.
