Tottenham’s Djed Spence was once again stellar for England as the Three Lions secured the bronze medal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

England’s World Cup campaign ended with a third-place finish after their final game of the tournament turned into a blockbuster last night.

Thomas Tuchel’s men defeated the 2018 World Cup winners and 2022 finalists, France, 6-4 to secure third place at football’s biggest tournament.

It was a game in which many attacking players showcased their quality. However, Tottenham full-back Djed Spence still managed to stand out with another excellent display.

Djed Spence shines again at the World Cup as transfer interest grows

Inter Milan are among the sides showing interest in Spence this summer, while Liverpool are also said to be monitoring the Englishman.

His performances throughout the 2026 World Cup have been stellar, with Spence displaying excellent defensive qualities against Argentina and impressing off the bench against Norway.

Against France, it was more of the same as the defender not only impressed defensively but also showed tremendous quality going forward.

Spence won the penalty for England’s fifth goal of the night after making an excellent run into the box before being brought down by Malo Gusto.

Bukayo Saka stepped up and converted the spot-kick brilliantly.

Spence continues to enhance his Spurs value

Spence‘s underlying numbers were equally impressive, with the full-back earning a 7.1 FotMob rating for his performance.

The Tottenham defender completed 86 per cent of his passes, won the penalty that helped England extend their advantage and was outstanding defensively, recording five tackles, a last-man tackle and not being dribbled past once throughout the 90 minutes.

He also won 10 of his 15 ground duels, underlining just how dominant he was on both sides of the ball.
