There could be some big developments over the future of Tottenham star Djed Spence very soon after his World Cup campaign ended on Saturday.

Spence is one of five senior Tottenham players expected to leave the club before the start of the season, as Roberto De Zerbi continues to rebuild the squad he inherited.

Many Tottenham fans do not want to see the 25-year-old sold after his outstanding performances at the World Cup for England, but it appears that the Lilywhites are making efforts to move him on.

Spurs and Inter Milan have been locked in talks over a deal for Spence over the last few days, and there could be some decisive developments on the transfer over the coming hours.

Tottenham and Inter Milan set for fresh round of Djed Spence talks

According to Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), the Nerazzurri and the Lilywhites will hold talks again over Spence ‘in the next few hours’.

The report says that this is Inter’s chance to put all their cards on the table in the hope of clinching the deal for the Spurs defender.

The outlet claims that Tottenham want a package worth €40m (£34m) for Spence, and that they would be willing to accept €35m (£29.8m) in guaranteed fees and bonuses of €5m (£4.2m).

However, Inter are still hoping to get a discount, and the Serie A club believe that one factor could help them bring down the price.

Spence is keen on swapping Spurs for Inter

That factor is Spence’s keenness to move to the San Siro and play in the Champions League, which Inter hope will help them bring down the fee.

The website says that the full-back feels that his time at Spurs is up as he knows he is not a guaranteed starter either at left-back or right-back under Roberto De Zerbi.

The 25-year-old has had a ‘hard time’ accepting this truth and is keen on making a move to Inter so that his England career is not impacted.
