Tottenham Hotspur have told Inter Milan the fee they would have to cough up to secure the services of Djed Spence.

Inter made contact with Tottenham over a deal for Spence earlier this week, and it appears that the Lilywhites are open to cashing in on the England star this summer.

Reports indicate that the Spurs full-back is open to completing a switch to San Siro this summer if the two clubs can strike an agreement.

However, it has emerged that the Lilywhites want a bigger fee for the 25-year-old than what the Nerazzurri are willing to put on the table.

Tottenham tell Inter Milan their asking price for Djed Spence

A couple of days ago, Sky Sport Italia revealed that Inter only want to pay around €25m-€30m (£21.2m-£25.5m) for Spence, but Tottenham want more than that.

The outlet claimed the negotiations between the two clubs over the former Middlesbrough man are ongoing.

Nicolo Schira has now claimed that Spurs have told the Nerazzurri that a €35m (£30m) offer will be enough to clinch the deal for Spence.

Schira wrote on X: “Inter have opened talks for Tottenham’s fullback Djed Spence. THFC ask 35M to sell him.”

Meanwhile, Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) also offer an update on Spence, revealing that Inter are not giving up on the Tottenham man yet.

The outlet says that the England international could end up costing Cristian Chivu’s side around €40m (£34m).

Why £30m-£35m is not likely to be enough to land Spence

Spence was universally hailed for his performance in the semifinal against Argentina, despite England being knocked out, with the full-back’s reputation blossoming due to his performances at the World Cup.

Additionally, we have heard over recent days that the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle have entered the race for the Tottenham full-back.

While £30m may have been enough to clinch the deal for Spence a few weeks ago, one doubts that is still the case after the 25-year-old’s performances in North America.
