‘Doing okay’ – Mark Lawrenson shares his Spurs v Brentford score prediction

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League match against Brentford tomorrow afternoon.

Last time out, Lawrenson incorrectly predicted that Tottenham would beat Aston Villa 2-1 when in fact Ryan Mason’s side were on the end of the reverse scoreline to suffer yet another defeat on the road.

Spurs have to win both of their remaining games against Brentford and Leeds United to stand any chance of making it into the Europa League, otherwise, they could find themselves in the Europa Conference League for the second time in the past three years.

Ryan Mason looks set to see the season out as interim head coach and once again stated his desire at yesterday’s pre-match press conference to take on the role on a full time basis (Football London).

Lawrenson told Paddy Power: ‘I think Tottenham might win this. They seem to be doing okay at home lately and they beat Crystal Palace the other day so I’ll go for another home win.

“Tottenham 2-0 Brentford.”

While the Europa League is not what fans wanted at the start of the season, it is important that the club finish in sixth place and secure qualification in order to at least be able to attract a better caliber of player in the summer window while also having the opportunity to give younger members of the squad some first-team experience.

A massive rebuild awaits Tottenham, which is well overdue. Whether tomorrow will be the last time supporters get to see Harry Kane play at home remains to be seen.
