‘Don’t have any interest’ – Senior figure admits he has snubbed Spurs approach

Feyenoord general manager Dennis te Kloese has admitted that he has rejected an offer from Tottenham Hotspur and instead wants to continue remain with the Dutch side.

Tottenham are seeking a new sporting director following the departure of Fabio Paratici last month after losing an appeal in Italy against his 30-month ban from the game.

Paratici had agreed to take an immediate leave of absence in March when it was revealed Paratici’s ban in Italy had been extended worldwide.

Te Kloese has previously worked as general director of the Mexico men’s national team between 2014 and 2018, having initially held roles at club sides within the same country.

He moved to LA Galaxy in 2018 and worked at the MLS side for four years, before moving taking up his current role at Feyenoord in January of last year

The 48-year-old claimed that he wishes to remain in his role at Feyenoord insisting it is not an option for him to look to seek employment elsewhere.

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has also been heavily linked with the vacant managerial position in north London with Tottenham still seeking a permanent replacement for Antonio Conte.

Te Kloese told ESPN Netherlands’ morning show “Goedemorgen Eredivisie”: “It’s not an option right now.

“I said ‘no’ and I also don’t have any interest. I’ve made the choice to work for Feyenoord and that is still a great honour.

“We have made really good steps last year and then to say: ‘Let’s hear what I can do for other clubs,’ is not an option for me. I want to be very clear: It will not happen.”

Feyenoord secured just their second Dutch title since the turn of the millennium earlier this month, having lost just one top flight match all campaign and will compete in the Champions League next season.

There appear to be other frontrunners for the sporting director role at Tottenham and it remains to be seen whether reports of Julian Nageslmann being back in contention for the head coach position will have any impact on who is appointed to take on the responsibility for transfers
