Tottenham’s former scout, Mick Brown, who remains well connected at Hotspur Way, has now revealed that a European giant has been sending scouts to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium amid Micky Van de Ven rumours.
With Tottenham Hotspur now looking destined to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table and potentially at the risk of missing out on Europe, it has been suggested that some big names could push for a move this summer.
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Cristian Romero wants to swap Spurs for Atletico Madrid, and we have also heard some rumours regarding his centre-back partner.
Some sources have claimed that Micky van de Ven is on Real Madrid’s centre-back shortlist ahead of the summer window, and a Tottenham insider has now shed light on what he knows about the Dutchman’s future.

Real Madrid have scouted at Tottenham Hotspur
Last week, Van de Ven’s agent claimed that he can play for Real Madrid one day, and Tottenham would not have appreciated those comments, especially since they come at a time when the Dutchman is being linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Mick Brown believes that Van de Ven’s agent is trying to get his client a move to the La Liga giants, and he also revealed that Madrid’s scouts have been keeping a close eye on Tottenham of late.
Brown told Football Insider about the 23-year-old: “His agent is really pushing for a move to Real Madrid. That’s the biggest problem in football at the moment, for me, because what does that agent know about football to be telling Real Madrid what they need?
“As it happens, I think Van de Ven would be a good fit for them, but that’s not for his agent to decide. Real Madrid want a centre-back and they’ve been looking at options.
“A lot of those options are in the Premier League, and we spoke before about Romero. They’ve had scouts at Tottenham games having a look, so I don’t doubt Van de Ven is on their radar.
“If they come calling, he will want to go, because it’s always difficult for players to turn down a move to Real Madrid, especially after a difficult season like he’s had. I’m not quite convinced he’ll be their first choice given his injury issues, but it’s a ‘watch this space’ situation at the moment.”
Tottenham expected to demand a huge fee for Van de Ven
As one would expect, various outlets have pointed out that Daniel Levy will not let go of the centre-back without a fight if the likes of Real Madrid come calling this summer.
It was previously claimed that Tottenham would demand £100m from Madrid for Van de Ven, which the La Liga club may not be too keen on paying, given the defender’s injury issues.
Perhaps it is worth considering if Spurs’ valuation of the Netherlands international may have come down following his latest hamstring injuries.
