In the final days of the window, Tottenham and Everton had agreed a double deal that would see Iliman Ndiaye and the Brazilian head in opposite directions.
However, Richarlison unleashed a spectacular outburst on social media after rejecting a return to the Toffees, with Ndiaye eventually snubbing Spurs to join Man City.
The Spurs striker then rejected a move to Vasco da Gama on Brazilian transfer deadline day, which now means that he faces being on the sidelines for the next few months.

Football Insider have now said that Everton are unlikely to revisit a move for their former striker when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Toffees have ‘no immediate plans’ to try again for Richarlison after the forward turned them down at the start of this month.
The way the 29-year-old handled the whole situation amid late interest from them has put off the Merseyside club from trying to bring him back to the club.
Even though Richarlison could be available for a cut-price fee in January when he enters the final six months of his contract, Everton have doubts about his desire to return to the club.
Richarlison could have one route out of Spurs over the coming weeks
According to a recent update from TEAMtalk, Dubai-based club Shabab Al-Ahli have contacted the Tottenham striker regarding a move.
The UAE Pro League window stays open until September 28, thus giving Richarlison a chance to seal his exit from Spurs after being frozen out by Roberto De Zerbi.
Shabab Al-Ahli are managed by Andre Jardine, who was the 29-year-old’s former Brazil Under-23 head coach, and the striker is thought to be open to a reunion with his former manager.
