Fabrizio Romano claims multiple Spanish clubs are interested in Spurs’ Argentine international

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a number of Spanish clubs have enquired about the availability of Giovani Lo Celso.

Even though it took Lo Celso a few months to get going after arriving at Spurs in the summer of 2019, the Argentine ended up having a very good first season at the club, prompting Jose Mourinho to even declare that he would not swap the former Real Betis man for anyone.

Spurs fans would have been hopeful that the 24-year-old would be able to build on his debut campaign and establish himself as one of the key members of the side.

However, that has not quite materialised since the midfielder has endured an injury-ravaged season so far.

Mourinho has revealed that Lo Celso is not far away from being back in action and some Tottenham fans on social media are hopeful that he can have a similar impact on the side to what he did last season.

Romano has stated that there is no shortage of interest in the Tottenham star from La Liga clubs but admitted that the midfielder is happy in North London.

He said on Here We Go Podcast: “Important Spanish clubs are asking about Lo Celso.

“They are persuading him because he was playing so well with Betis when he was in Spain.

“And they want to bring him back to La Liga, but the player is so happy at Tottenham right now, and there is no reason for him to leave this summer.”

Spurs Web Opinion

With games coming thick and fast over the next few months, we are certainly going to need Lo Celso to deliver. It will be interesting to see how Mourinho uses the Argentine when he is back given that Ndombele has adapted to playing in a deeper role and the likes of Erik Lamela and Dele Alli seem to be staking a claim for the number ten role.
