Tottenham Hotspur may have struggled with injuries this season, but the rise of their young stars has been a rare bright spark. Five Spurs players have now been recognised in Goal’s NXGN list, which ranks the 50 best talents born on or after 1 January 2006.
Indeed, Tottenham Hotspur’s season has been ravaged by injuries. At one point, 12 first-team players were sidelined, forcing Ange Postecoglou to turn to youth. Several stepped up when called upon, proving their quality for the Lilywhites.
Archie Gray was one of them. Naturally a midfielder, he had to fill in at centre-back due to the absence of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
His performances did not go unnoticed either, as Gray picked up the Young Player of the Season award at the London Football Awards. Lucas Bergvall has also impressed, displacing the out-of-form Yves Bissouma from the first team.
Several Spurs youngsters are currently out on loan. Yang Min-hyeok has been catching the eye at QPR, while Luka Vuskovic has achieved a feat no other defender in Europe’s top ten leagues has managed this season at Westerlo.
Mikey Moore, meanwhile, is one of our own and has shown flashes of brilliance, particularly in his performance against AZ in the Europa League, which led James Maddison to compare Moore to Neymar.

Tottenham’s Archie Gray leads the way in Next Gen list
Goal has now ranked the 50 best talents born on or after 1 January 2006, with five Tottenham players making the cut.
Yang Min-hyeok, currently on loan at QPR, secured 43rd place. Luka Vuskovic, on loan at Westerlo, landed in 26th, making him the fourth-highest-ranked Tottenham player on the list.
The good news? He is now eligible to return to the club this summer after turning 18.
Mikey Moore came in at 22nd, with Lucas Bergvall ranking 16th. The highest-placed Spurs player was Archie Gray, who secured 13th spot, further underlining his immense potential.
