Former-Spur believes Mourinho’s transfer claims are a ‘load of rubbish’

Michael Brown believes that Jose Mourinho will have a number of potential signings in mind despite claiming that transfers are not a priority this summer (Football Insider).

In an interview with Sky Sports, the Spurs boss claimed that the Lilywhites ‘are not thinking about’ transfers and there have been ‘no talks’ as to who the club could approach this summer.

However, former Spurs midfielder, Brown claimed that, with all of Mourinho’s ‘unbelievable experience’ as a manager, it would be a ‘load of rubbish’ to think he is not considering transfer targets.

Brown firmly believes that the Spurs boss is bluffing and has already provided Daniel Levy with a list of possible targets.

“If you don’t think he’s already got a list together then that’s a load of rubbish,” he said.

“He’s got a list, he understands it. Jose Mourinho has unbelievable experience, as has Daniel Levy.

“They know the market, the ins and outs very, very well and I’m sure they’ll have everything under control to the best of their abilities that they can at that football club.”

Recent reports have already suggested against Mourinho’s claim with the former-Chelsea manager reportedly being interested in bringing in Kurt Zouma this summer.

Tottenham’s transfer budget could depend hugely on if they can secure a Champions League finish. Spurs, who currently sit in eighth spot, welcome Manchester United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they return to domestic football on June 19.

I tend to agree with Brown, it is highly unlikely Mourinho will not have considered potential incomings at this stage of the season. Although the budget could depend hugely on whether Spurs can finish with a Champions League spot, it is unlikely that we will have a healthy transfer budget this summer.
