Tottenham fans have given a mixed reaction after reports revealed Roberto De Zerbi is an admirer of City forward Omar Marmoush.
Tottenham Hotspur will now have to go back to the drawing board after the latest blow in their pursuit of Eli Junior Kroupi.
The Bournemouth man is understood to have injured his foot during pre‑season, undergone surgery, and is now expected to be sidelined for three to four months.
Following the blow, it has since been revealed that Spurs were preparing to send in a blockbuster £80m+ bid for Kroupi, but with the Bournemouth man injured, a summer move has now been ruled out.

Tottenham fans react as Omar Marmoush emerges as alternative target
Tottenham will now have to turn their attention to alternative options following the latest setback as they remain keen on bolstering their attack.
According to Alasdair Gold, Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi is an admirer of City forward Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian was on the radar of the Lilywhites back in the winter transfer window.
Marmoush, just like Savinho, struggled for playing time last campaign and managed 699 minutes of Premier League football.
Following Gold’s report, many Spurs fans have taken to social media to express their approval of a move for Marmoush.
One fan said: “GIVE HIM TO ME.” Another added: “He had a poor World Cup but I would LOVE it icl. Definitely a top top player.”
A third commented: “He is the one ☝️ been saying it all summer £100m. £80m for Scott and £60m for Sav. Best window in the club’s history.”
Another fan hoped the striker is higher on Spurs’ list: “Need someone to tell me he is higher on the list than Igor and Watkins.”
Other fans were not entirely convinced, with some believing City will be unwilling to let go of two attackers.
One fan said: “Obviously, they cannot sell both at the same time if Savinho is still in the picture and the fear of strengthening the opponent they hardly beat.”
Another stated: “City would not sell Savinho to us, so why would they sell Marmoush,” while one more added: “We will not be allowed to get both him and Savio from City.”
Another fan was convinced that Marmoush would be the perfect fit, stating: “Would suit us to a tee, but they are already playing hardball over Sav, are they really gonna sell two players to us?”
One Tottenham fan summed it up: “Could we really do a double deal with City for Savinho and Marmoush. I would be well happy with that tbh.”
Roberto De Zerbi hints new Spurs forward signing is imminent
Based on recent comments from head coach Roberto De Zerbi, the arrival of a new forward at Spurs does look imminent.
The Tottenham boss claims that a move is close to being completed and that Spurs remain focused on landing their top target.
He said: “In the transfer market, when I want one player, I become like a shark, no chance to say no! The transfer market, it is not finished for sure, but we completed 60 per cent of our project in the transfer market. Now we have another bomba!”
When asked whether the deal was close, he responded: “I hope, but it is not finished for sure.”
